This comes from a post frequent contributor, Holly Clegg sent me back in 2013 as a terrific gift idea for Mother’s Day. It was buried at the end of the post highlighting her recipe for Mexican Breakfast Casserole as a breakfast in bed treat for mom. So I thought I’d repost it here for some homemade gift making and giving inspiration!
This recipe is simple enough for the kids to help you make up several batches for the grandmas. Also, if you’re into essential oils (isn’t everyone these days?) add a few drops of your favorite therapeutic scent!
Homemade gifts for Mother’s Day
Homemade gifts always take a special spot in Mom’s heart and kids of all ages will have fun mixing up this Diva Dermatology recipe from Too Hot in the Kitchen: Secrets to Sizzle At Any Age. Purchase an inexpensive container, fill, tie with a ribbon and voilà – your homemade skincare gift, Brown Sugar Scrub, is ready!
Your hands or whatever body part you scrub will feel so soft afterwards. Olive oil contains vitamin E and antioxidants and is good for your nails and skin.
