We get up pretty early around here during the week – and go to bed way too late most evenings to make it a pleasant situation. One way we cope is by making sure we always get a pot of coffee going. It’s the first order of business once we confirm that the kids are up and the dog has food in her bowl. My husband Paul is pretty particular about his coffee. It used to be that he preferred mild roasts. However, I’ve noticed that he’s going for the medium to dark roasts these days. And you should see how he doctors his coffee! First, he adds a flavoring – almond, vanilla, or maybe caramel flavored coffee syrup. Then a bunch of sugar even though the syrup is sweetened. After that some milk. During the holidays, he’ll add eggnog to his coffee, too.
Frankly, I look at his morning ritual and get a little grossed out – too sweet! I’m much more of a healthy coffee drinker. In the summer, I like having my coffee iced with some rice milk and stevia. When it’s colder, I’ll warm up some coconut milk in the microwave and use a frother to attempt to froth it up a bit. Then I add some liquid stevia and some coffee to the foamy coconut milk, so I have a dairy free latte without having to go to a coffee shop!
Seattle’s Best – always guaranteed!
One brand of coffee that we enjoy from time to time is Seattle’s Best Coffee, which we first had when we were traveling – I think it was either in Las Vegas or Hawaii. Yes, even when we’re not at home, we need our coffee!
One thing I recently found out about Seattle’s Best Coffee is that if you don’t love the taste, they will give you your money back guaranteed. Seriously. (See the Seattle’s Best Coffee website for details) You see, Seattle’s Best Coffee knows how it is in the morning, so they blend their coffee to be the way they hope your day will be: balanced, smooth, and satisfying. From that first perfect sip, their medium blends are easy to drink and terrific tasting, plain, healthy or super sweet.
