On the road with 100% pure Florida Orange Juice

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Florida Orange Juice. All opinions are 100% mine.

road signA few weeks ago, my family and I drove from Colorado to our new home in Georgia. It was a fun but stressful trip. Luckily for us, it was easy to start the day with a healthy breakfast as all our hotels offered a full breakfast along with our rooms.

I really appreciate how even the most budget oriented motel offers healthy items like whole grain cereal, yogurt, fruit and 100% pure Florida Orange Juice these days, along with the traditional pastries, donuts and coffee.

Kathleen Zelman, MPH, RD suggests that when looking for a snack, think outside the box before trying to satisfy your cravings from roadside convenience stores or airport kiosks. She says to plan ahead and take a cooler with portable, smart snacks like nuts, hummus with veggies, granola bars and 8-ounce cartons of 100% pure Florida Orange Juice, which will help give you the energy and nutrients you need to get through your travel day.

I’ve also found that many truck stops are offering healthier on-the-go snacks like hard boiled eggs, fruit, whole wheat crackers, and, of course, 100% pure Florida Orange Juice. Of course, you have to forego the temptations of ice cream sandwiches, slushy drinks and candy bars. But you’ll feel better for it, since drinking 100% pure Florida Orange Juice helps that by giving you the energy and nutrition you need to get through the day. At least that’s how I feel when I drink it!

Here are a few reasons why 100% pure Florida Orange Juice is good for you. Did you know that:

  • one 8-ounce glass of 100% orange juice provides half of the USDA-recommended daily fruit intake for most adults, based on a 2,000-calorie diet
  • one 8‐ounce serving of 100 percent orange juice is a good source of potassium and folate and an excellent source of vitamin C
  • one serving of 100% orange juice is more nutrient dense than many commonly-consumed 100 percent fruit juices
