Sometimes food tastes better than it looks. Stews, chili and roasts come to mind. But occasionally, food looks prettier than it tastes.
I experimented with two recipes – a gluten free coconut pie crust and a tofu coconut cream pie. The pie crust didn’t stick together well and tasted awful. (I think the canola oil I used was rancid.) Plus I should have left the shredded coconut out of the rather tasteless tofu coconut cream pie. Chewy and creamy aren’t necessarily a good combination.
Ended up tossing it in the trash. Blech.
