Online goal setting for New Year’s resolutions

j0387781 Are you looking for a new way to set goals on everything from losing weight, to getting your veggies in, to working out? I just came across a new site that will help you do just that – Goalforit!

Their easy-to-use online tools will help you (and the rest of your family including kids) set and manage goals and keep you focused on achieving positive outcomes in your life.

Goalforit! lets you:

  • Set your goals in three easy steps.
  • Set optional reminders for your goals.
  • Set goals to be public, private or viewable by friends only.
  • Get inspired by other members’ public goals and action plans.
  • Collaborate and get support from family and friends with your goals.
  • And Goalforit! let’s you do this all for free.

Goalforit! is not just a weight loss tool. You can use it to help you track money, set professional goals, and even get the kids to set goals on school work and chores. For more information you can view their tutorial video.

I tried out Goalforit! by creating a profile and setting a blogging goal. Basically, it’s a social networking site where you publicly (or privately) set your goals. I really liked how the site would remind you of your goals daily, weekly, monthly or not at all. You can friend other members, post motivational pictures, and explain why the goal is important to you.

There are some cool people using the site already. One person wants to watch a movie from the 1940s every week for the next 10 weeks. There are several people trying to lose 30 pounds.

It’s a neat way to meet your goals and get motivated through a social networking site, so check it out and give Goalforit! a try.

If you’d like a tool for setting your goals, you can use this web application:

http://www.Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.

Dan, that looks like a site worth investigating too.
