But speaking on a practical level, what's the alternative at your local grocery store - the place where most people shop? The closest health food store is a 40-minute round trip for me. Whole Foods is a 1.5 hour round trip. My local grocer, which has a very good health food section, carries Horizon and their own store brand of organic milk. That's it - industrial organic dairy milk. It's probably the same for most people. Instead, I've decided to go with my local dairy, which isn't organic, but doesn't use hormones. It's family owned and I like their mission and values. I'm lucky to live in an area with several local dairies. Most people don't have that option. Complain all you want about Horizon but there isn't much of an alternative.
