Weekend update

Did my weigh in Saturday and I’m down 2 pounds…I think. I have a really old bathroom scale from the ’50s and its hard to tell exactly. So I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a digital scale. Wish I had it at the beginning so I could see my results more accurately, plus week 2 will probably be "off," but it’ll work out in the wash.

And I feel thinner. I’m not falling out of my bra anymore – my cup does not runneth over (ha). Pants don’t feel as painfully tight either – just regular tight. Can’t wait for them to be loose!

Scheduling food around the weekend was next to impossible. I just tried to bring a lot of carrots and veggies with me along with my nuts and fruit snacks. Stop at Starbucks for a small no-fat latte too and spaced out my 2 diet sodas as well.

Shopping was much easier, too. We hit the farmers market, though there’s not much around here except root veggies. The guys at Miller Farms, which is nearby and has a shop, said to come by after July 4 when they’d have more produce. Still, I bought a bunch of beets for the family and got a big ol’ bag of free lettuce.

And now I’m making protein banana shakes for the kids. Glad they like it, and now I’m glad I bought the gigantic bottle of whey protein at GNC. Neither of them have been eating very well lately. Lucie’s her usual dainty self, and even though I’ve stopped buying cookies, she’s not eating a lot. Nathan’s given up meat, chicken and fish – all he wants to eat is pasta and PB&J.

Glad to give him some additional protein in his banana shake, but we’re still insisting that he eat some meat at dinner. For goodness sake, how can anyone turn down pulled pork? Wish I had that problem.

Nice not to work out this weekend, too. But tomorrow’s the start of the week, and back to getting fit and slim!
