Inspired by all the fabulous food bloggers I met at BlogHer06, I’m starting a new feature, Food Blog of the Week. If you’d like me to feature your blog, all you need to do is email me. If I like your blog, I’ll add it on my blogroll and feature it on a post.
I hope to do this every Thursday morning when the Boo Girl’s in preschool. But we’ll see how it goes.
On Sunday, I got an email from Mark of the Mens Cookery Club:
Just wanted to mention that we are new blog, actively seeking some encouragement from the blogging/cooking community. We’re the Mens Cookery Club and we’re learning to cook, as frankly a boiled egg seems complicated to us. We have an ex ace chef dishing out the recipes (with a few more cherferroonies getting involved soon) and then we, his disciples, blog them up to share with the world, as exercise in memory retention.
I love British phrasing. As Mark writes in a followup email:
Some people are a bit scared by our terrible grammar, juvenile humour and refusal to use any kind of measuring device. I hope you’re brave enough! Despite these quirks we’ve started to find that other people like me are starting to be encouraged by our blog to "have a go" and that’s all that matters.
As for your blog, A Readable Feast, wicked idea. I’ve got two "babbers" (localised English term!!), 4 and 6 – both good healthy eaters and both love reading. They’re not too hot on table manners yet as we use condiments, vegetables (and anything else to hand), to re-create the stories we’ve read at last bed time. I especially liked asparagus being the chess pieces in "Alice through the looking glass" yesterday, with the mashed potato being the hill you could never run away from, unless you ran at it (eat it).
Dinner time must be fun – and messy – at Mark’s house.
Needless to say, check out this week’s pick, Mens Cookery Club and this recipe for Piri Piri Prawns.

Thanks for the pointer to a lovely blog.
And how funny–this week StartCooking’s been blogging about how to boil an egg, and then how to crack it!
