After slicing up my fingers pretty badly two weeks ago, it’s ironic that Big Bad Dad got me a couple of cool but rather dangerous kitchen utensils for Christmas.
First, I got a J.A. Henckels Two Blade Mincing Knife. He purchased this in Germany, which was pretty smart on his part since it’s not available here in the U.S. I find it interesting that to buy this from Amazon.UK you have to declare that you are over 16-years-old and that it will be "used responsibly and appropriately." They don’t know me very well, do they?
Big Bad Dad also gave me pair of Henckels Serrated Poultry Shears. After seeing them used to cut up the duck at the German traditional goose dinner he attended, he thought they’d come in handy. However, I’m not so sure that this was a good purchase due to the lousy customer reviews on Amazon.com. Seems the spring gets rusty after cleaning, making it impossible to operate the shears. At least the Henckels shears come with a lifetime warranty, so I can always get it replaced if necessary.
So what neat kitchen stuff did you get this holiday season?

Ooh I like it! 2 blades eh? I’m dangerous enough with my mezzaluna~what trouble could I get into with that?
Gotta love Henckel’s to boot-I’m still working with a sani-safe-but hey, it IS carbon so it’s not completely devoid of redeeming characteristics.
I got an oxo garlic dicer. I hate to chop garlic and I probably use 3 bulbs a week!
