Grilling cookbooks

GrillingYes, I know it’s October, but who says you can only grill in the summer? At my house, we grill year ’round, even when it’s snowing. After all, I have a freezer full of tuna, mahi mahi, and vension that I have to cook up and I’m not going to wait until next summer to do so.

Here’s some recommendations for grilling cookbooks. Don’t forget that the holiday season is only a few months away and a cookbook for your favorite grill master may be the perfect gift.

  • Weight Watchers Grill It! – Available at WW meetings, this $9.99 cookbook features some terrific recipes, including a fabulous one for Grilled Tuna with Corn and Pea Saute that hardly tasted like a "diet" recipe. Big Bad Dad loved it, and now that we have a freezer full of tuna from his last fishing trip to Mexico, I look forward to making the Asian Tuna with Water Chestnuts on a Stick recipe, and trying out the grilled pizza recipes as well.
  • Dr. BBQ’s Big-Time Barbeque Cookbook – I reviewed this cookbook back in July. It features recipes on everything from sides and rubs, to grilling lamb and tofu. Great pictures and stories from BBQ competitions around the US.
  • Weber’s Big Book of Grilling – Good friend Michelle D. loves to cook from this book on her Weber grill. She got this book a couple of years ago, and I still remember her raving about it.
  • How to Grill: The Complete Illustrated Book of Barbecue Techniques, A Barbecue! Bible Cookbook – A very comprehensive, everything you ever wanted to know barbeque cookbook by Steven Raichlen.

My favorite grilling cookbook is Stephen Raichlen’s Barbecue Bible, the original one. Unbelievable grilling recipes from his personal trip around the world, and a fascinating read besides.
