I usually buy Lucerne light fat free yogurts at Safeway. I don’t care for King Sooper’s light fat free yogurts, and Dannon and Wal-Mart’s generic brand only come in 6 oz. not 8 oz. sizes. (I want a full cup of yogurt, not 6 ounces, thank you very much.)
Since I was planning to do a big shopping at Super Wal-Mart, and didn’t want to make a side trip to Safeway, I purchased the 32 oz. size of Dannon’s Light and Fit no fat vanilla yogurt.
I found a recipe for Summer Chai Coolers on the lid foil that sounds terrific. It uses vanilla syrup. Try sugar free vanilla or vanilla bean syrup by Torani. I use this syrup for coffee and it’s perfect to add vanilla flavor, but not calories, to this recipe. (Torani syrups can be found rather inexpensively at World Market Cost Plus stores.) You could also try using 1/4 to 1/2 a tablespoon of vanilla extract since the vanilla yogurt is already very sweet.
If you’re doing Weight Watchers this is a one point recipe IF you use the sugar free syrup since it only uses 1/2 cup of nonfat yogurt sweetened with aspartame. The rest of the ingredients are zero points. Sounds like a guilt free indulgence to me. Enjoy!
