First, a commercial break…
You have three more days to vote for This Mama Cooks! as the Best Cooking/Recipe Blog.
Remember you can vote every 24 hours. So vote often and use all your email accounts to vote many, many times for your favorite blogs.
And, pleeeez remember to verify your votes when you receive the verifying email from BoB. Several of my friends couldn’t figure out why their votes weren’t showing up. Uh, maybe they shouldn’t drink and vote at the same time.
Now back to our regular program…
On one of the review sites, I was told I don’t have enough pictures. So here are some wonderful dishes by Big Bad Dad. I’ve been too busy to cook lately, so he’s been pinch hitting for me in the kitchen.
So now the food porn…
Big Bad Dad makes the most wonderful omelets. The secret is putting a lid on the pan at the end of the cooking process. He says it steams the eggs and makes the omelet fluffy. This one features avocados, shrimp and cheese. I cannot make a nice looking omelet for the life of me.
Monkey Boy and Big Bad Dad made these awesome dumplings and potstickers last weekend. We’d were talking about dim sum with some friends, and he got inspired. I contributed by washing all the dishes and sweeping all the flour off the floor.
These corn pancakes are the best! Big Bad Dad learned how to make these when he lived in Berlin from his rockabilly friend Thomas. Basically, they’re a mixture of flour, egg and milk. Throw in some finely chopped onions, a bit of cooked bacon or sausage, salt and pepper, and thawed frozen or canned corn. Fry up in oil like a pancake and serve with lots of ketchup.
I love these and have them on special occasions like Christmas morning. Our German friend, Thomas, is very amused by this as he considers these pancakes to be made and eaten by poor and desperate college students. Nevertheless, he promises to email me the recipe for a bean version soon.
So I hope that satisfied your need for a little food porn until I can get a little un-busy and post some recipes.

I have done so very little cooking since my son was born 18 months ago. Instead, we go out to eat a lot. After a long day of chasing The Boy Child around, it feels like a treat I deserve, but it’s so bad for the waistline. Anyway, I’m glad to have discovered your blog. It’s inspiring!
